Privacy
What this website and the Wahala game keep about you, and for how long. Short version: very little.
This website
- No cookies, no scripts, no third-party trackers, no ads.
- Our web server keeps standard access logs: IP address, time, page requested, browser type and the page you came from. We keep them for 14 days to keep the site running and safe, then they are deleted.
- We count visits and clicks (for example, how many people tap "Open in Lagos Life") from those logs, with IP addresses anonymised in the counts.
- Cloudflare carries traffic to this site and protects it from attacks, so it processes your IP address while doing that.
The game
Wahala runs inside Lagos Life. Lagos Life gives us a player id made just for Wahala, your display name and your avatar. We don't receive your email, phone number, location or anything that identifies you outside the game, and we never try to.
To run the game we keep:
- Your Wahala player id, display name and avatar.
- Your rounds: parks you joined, roles, outcomes and scores, and a replay of each round for fair-play checks.
- Park chat, for 30 days, so reports of abuse can be checked.
- Reports, mutes and bans.
- Your coins and the roof loads and slogans you own, and records of stake parks and their results.
- Error reports from the game, with IP addresses switched off.
We don't fingerprint devices, don't link you across other games or services, and don't sell or share your data. Fare and purchases are handled by Lagos Life on its own sheets. We only receive whether a payment or stake went through.
Keeping and deleting
We delete your game data when you ask, when Lagos Life asks, or if Wahala leaves Lagos Life. Records needed to settle a stake park correctly are kept only as long as the law requires. We follow the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, and if a breach ever affects your data, we report it within 72 hours.
Privacy requests: a contact address will be published here before the game launches.
